PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SUMMARY: Provide guidance and support to newer principals, drawing on extensive experience in school leadership. Coach and advise principals on effective management practices, instructional leadership, and school operations. Help navigate challenges, build strong relationships with staff and the community, and develop strategies for fostering a positive school environment. With a focus on professional growth, assist in enhancing the principal's decision-making skills, communication, and overall effectiveness. Requires a deep understanding of educational leadership, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a commitment to supporting the success of school leaders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide one-on-one coaching to principals, offering personalized guidance on leadership and school management.
Assist the principal in making informed decisions by offering insights based on experience and expertise.
Advise the principal on effective school management strategies, including budgeting, scheduling, staff management, and policy implementation.
Provide guidance on improving instructional practices, curriculum implementation, and student achievement.
Offer advice and support in managing crises and unexpected challenges, drawing on experience to guide the principal through difficult situations.
Support the principal in navigating administrative challenges and ensuring compliance with district and state regulations.
Help the principal develop and support a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
Assist the principal in building strong, collaborative relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community.
Offer strategies for effective communication and conflict resolution within the school community.
Help the principal develop problem-solving skills and proactive strategies for addressing potential issues.
Maintain a confidential and supportive relationship with the principal, fostering an environment of trust.
Ensure that all interactions and advice are aligned with the best interests of the school and the principal's professional growth.
EXPERIENCE Prior experience as either a Principal or Assistant Principal at Jeffco Public Schools.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, OR REGISTRATIONS Valid Professional Principal License or Administrator License from Colorado Department of Education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of state and federal requirements for public education. Knowledge of Jeffco Public Schools educational goals and standards, school operations, and organizational structure. Knowledge of how to leverage school management software, data dashboards, communication tools, and other relevant technologies to support administrative functions and enhance educational practices. Strong leadership skills with the ability to collect relevant perspectives, make informed decisions, and communicate for consensus and support. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with students, staff, parents, and the community. Strong conflict resolution and mediation skills to address disciplinary issues and interpersonal conflicts. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines. Ability to understand and respond to the emotional and social needs of students and staff. Ability to anticipate potential challenges and proactively develop strategies to mitigate them.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Regularly required to use hands to handle and feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Must be able to access shelving and storage areas. Must be able to direct or lead students to safety in the event of an emergency or drill.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to read and comprehend curriculum, policies and procedures, standards, benchmarks, behavior plans, performance evaluations, and implementation strategies. Ability to make sound decisions on a day-to-day basis on appropriate communication with staff on safety concerns, student performance metrics, and tasks to meet strategic goals. Ability to evaluate and provide constructive feedback on both staff performance and student behavior. Demonstrate mature judgement in exercising appropriate supervision and expectations of staff and students. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work will be primarily performed at either elementary and secondary school sites. Typical elementary school building may also contain libraries, computer labs, and kitchens. Typical secondary school campus may also contain libraries, science labs, computer labs, kitchens, auditoriums, gymnasiums & athletic fields, and possibly specialized shops. May be exposed to outside elements during travel between campuses and offices.
