The Saw Operator position is based out of our Alvarado location just off of Hwy 67.

Primary Function:
Jimco Sales & Manufacturing is seeking a full-time Saw Operator experienced with operating an industrial horizontal band saw (Hydmech M-16A). The ideal candidate must be able to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.

This position requires someone who takes pride and ownership of their responsibilities, knowing accuracy has a huge implications on the company's profits and losses. This position requires the ability to work on deadlines with little supervision.

Job tasks, correctly performed, have a direct impact on efficiency, cost containment and and operations of the company. The fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities contribute in a significant way to the overall success and profitability of our company.

Duties & Responsibilities:
This position is for a reliable individual who works well with deadlines and has great attention to detail. The duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Possess a high level of experience operating an industrial horizontal band saw (Hydmech M-16A)
• Must have experience operating a forklift
• Able to accurately read a tape measure
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
• Must be able toward understanding pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
• Complete tasks in a timely manner with little supervision
• Have good verbal communication skills
• Follow all company safety procedures
• Work well with others and as a team

GOALS:

• Achieve Production Efficiency: Operate the Hydmech M-16A industrial horizontal band saw to cut materials accurately, meeting or exceeding daily production quotas.
• Maintain Precision Standards: Consistently produce cuts that adhere to blueprint and shop drawing specifications with minimal waste or rework.
• Ensure Equipment Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the band saw and associated tools to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
• Collaborate with Team Members: Work effectively with colleagues to coordinate material cutting needs and contribute to smooth production workflows.
• Adhere to Safety Protocols: Strictly follow company safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
• Support Workflow Optimization: Identify and communicate opportunities to improve cutting processes or material utilization to increase efficiency.
• Meet Deadlines with Accuracy: Balance speed and precision to ensure all assigned tasks are completed on time while upholding quality standards.
• Commit to Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to expand technical skills and adapt to new methods or tools in material cutting.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience:

• High School Education or equivilent
• Technical degree or certification a plus
• Experience w/ an industrial horizontal band saw (Hydmech M-16A)
• Forklift Certification
• Read tape measure
• Read blueprints and shop drawings
• Ability to prioritize when given multiple tasks
• Teachable with a positive, can-do attitude
