The Opportunity
Are you passionate about precision in cost estimation and construction schedules? We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Residential Construction Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will develop cost estimates, create construction schedules, and present detailed breakdowns suitable for use by clients, project managers, and the project team. Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Develop accurate development and construction capital cost estimates using the latest data and methodologies, tailored to the project phase.
- Operational Cost Estimates: Prepare production operating cost estimates based on the most current data.
- Scheduling: Create detailed development and construction schedules appropriate to each project phase.
- Support Project Managers: Assist in developing work breakdown structures and making informed decisions on development and construction approaches.
- Project Phase Expenditure: Prepare and manage project phase expenditure schedules.
- Economic Evaluations: Participate in economic evaluations of projects to ensure financial viability.
- Quality Assurance: Contribute to delivering high-quality products on schedule and within budget.
Qualifications
- Education & Certification: Relevant training and/or certification in project cost estimating, with 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in preparing construction and development cost estimates.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in analysis, numeration, research, and the use of spreadsheet (Excel) and scheduling software (MS Project). Experience with database cost estimating (JobTread or similar) software is a strong plus.
- Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment.
- Teamwork: Ability to collaborate well with others and contribute to a positive team dynamic.
