Rod Busters at Allied Concrete play a crucial role in the construction process by reinforcing concrete structures. This position involves the precise placement and securing of steel rebar and metallic reinforcements within various concrete forms. The successful candidate will ensure structural integrity and adherence to construction specifications and safety standards.
Allied Concrete is seeking an experienced Rod Busters for our concrete teams in Bozeman, MT. We are looking for workers with experience in the following:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the placement of rebar within concrete forms.
- Cut, bend, and thread rebar using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as cutting shears, benders, and rebar-tying machines.
- Place and secure rebar in concrete forms using wire, pliers, and other tools. Ensure all reinforcements are correctly spaced, aligned, and tied according to project specifications.
- Assist in setting up and dismantling concrete forms and scaffolding. Ensure all formwork is properly installed and secured before placing rebar.
- Inspect all work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications. Make adjustments as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and participate in safety meetings and training sessions.
- Work closely with other crew members, supervisors, and project managers to ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Rod Buster or Ironworker in the construction industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training or certification in ironwork or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction drawings. Skilled in the use of rebar cutting, bending, and tying tools and machinery.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, perform physically demanding tasks, and work in various weather conditions. Must be able to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to safety and the ability to follow safety protocols and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
OTHER:
- Ability to work overtime and Saturdays on an as-needed basis.
- Ability to work on construction projects in both standard and high-risk areas. Construction site work environment – will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs and ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as required.
