Responsibilities
- Dispatch Operations: Coordinate and dispatch towing services to customers, ensuring timely and efficient responses to service calls, including 911 calls.
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing towing services, providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and communicating estimated arrival times.
- Scheduling: Manage and maintain the daily schedule for tow truck operators, ensuring optimal coverage and efficient routing.
- Communication: Maintain constant communication with drivers, customers, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth operations.
- Data Entry: Accurately input and maintain records of service requests, dispatch details, and other pertinent information, including billing out invoices.
- Problem-Solving: Quickly assess situations to determine the best course of action, particularly in high-pressure or emergency scenarios.
- Compliance: Ensure that all dispatch operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
- Coordination with Partners: Liaise with repair shops, law enforcement, insurance companies, and other partners as needed.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit regular reports on dispatch operations, including response times, service quality, driver logs, and any incidents.
- Emergency Response: Coordinate emergency response efforts for breakdowns, accidents, or other urgent towing needs.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a dispatcher in the heavy truck towing or transportation industry.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of towing equipment, heavy-duty trucks, and relevant industry regulations.
- Technology: Proficiency in using software, GPS systems, and other relevant technology.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities with a keen eye for detail.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think quickly and make informed decisions in fast-paced environments.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with drivers, customers, and other team members.
