Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager - Infrastructure with 6 years of experience in managing complex infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project planning and execution, infrastructure design and implementation, cloud migration and optimization, budget and resource management, and security and compliance. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure projects, from planning and design to implementation and delivery.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, systems administrators, cloud architects, and other stakeholders, to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor and manage project progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.
  • Facilitate regular project status meetings, providing updates to stakeholders and senior leadership on progress, risks, and deliverables.

Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

  • Oversee the design, architecture, and implementation of infrastructure solutions, including on-premises, cloud-based, and hybrid environments.
  • Ensure that infrastructure solutions are scalable, reliable, and optimized for performance and cost.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define infrastructure requirements, technical specifications, and system configurations.
  • Lead the execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are deployed according to design specifications, quality standards, and within scope.

Cloud Migration and Optimization:

  • Lead cloud migration initiatives, transitioning on-premises infrastructure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Develop migration strategies, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and optimizing for cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Implement cloud optimization strategies to improve the efficiency and performance of cloud resources, ensuring cost-effective and reliable cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cloud architects to ensure the architecture of cloud infrastructure is aligned with organizational goals and best practices.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Manage project budgets, ensuring that infrastructure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
  • Track project expenses, forecast costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Oversee resource allocation, ensuring that the appropriate technical and non-technical resources are available for project tasks.
  • Ensure that the project team has the necessary tools, equipment, and training to perform their duties effectively and efficiently.

Security and Compliance:

  • Ensure infrastructure projects adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001).
  • Collaborate with security teams to define and implement security controls within infrastructure designs.
  • Oversee the implementation of secure infrastructure solutions, ensuring that data, applications, and systems are protected from unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage compliance assessments and audits, ensuring that infrastructure projects meet regulatory standards and industry best practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6 years of experience in technical project management, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects, including cloud migration and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure design, architecture, and implementation (e.g., networking, servers, storage, virtualization).
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud migration best practices.
  • Experience with budget management, resource allocation, and vendor management.
  • Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks relevant to infrastructure (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC 2, GDPR).
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and monitoring tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudWatch, Prometheus).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex technical issues and risks.
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master) are a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with hybrid cloud architectures and multi-cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or similar service management frameworks.
  • Experience with data center management, virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware), and storage solutions.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline management.
