Duties And Responsibilities
- Serves as IT liaison across organizations for process improvement, business processes and systems integration. Consults with and actively engaged with customers to ensure optimal utilization of existing information technologies.
- Assesses customer needs on medium to high complexity initiatives (efforts/projects) projects utilizing a structured requirements process (gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to prioritize immediate business needs and recommends options, risks and cost vs benefits.
- Leads the development and communication of business requirements to the IT community for the design and implementation of business solutions. Ensures traceability of requirements throughout product lifecycle including Statement Of Work (SOWs) with suppliers.
- Follows defined IT project management processes, standards, and procedures. Provides process feedback supporting potential improvement opportunities.
- Develops and maintains role specific IT project-related documentation (e.g., Business Requirements Document, process models, intermediate to advance conceptual data models, specifications, diagrams, and charts, as needed).
- Participates in project control and monitoring Monitors of day-to-day work including supplier relationships, as well as any special projects that may arise as a result of changing business requirements to ensure traceability of requirements throughout product lifecycle.
- Ensures traceability of requirements throughout product lifecycle. Reviews quality acceptance test plan and monitors the testing process to ensures that expected business results are adequately tested/achieved and the remaining risks are acceptable.
- Supports and maintains a productive working relationship with project sponsors, customers, vendors and other key stakeholders across business functions by being proactive, displaying to gain in-depth knowledge of their business and processes to assist with leads the development and implementation of innovative business solutions.
- Makes effective use of and participates in the identification of improvements in more complex business analysis practices, principles, and tools. Utilizes process improvement techniques such as six sigma tools and SEI-CMM processes.
- Lead peer reviews of business requirements to ensure requirements specifications are easily interpreted and mentors and guides the work of lower level employees in this job family.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent 2 years work experience in business analysis, process modeling / improvements in computing systems deployment, IT project management, or computer related technical activities.
- Substantial experience, preferably more than 5 years of relevant work experience in related field, to include business analysis, process/modeling / improvement supporting IT initiatives (efforts / projects). Experience should also include the application of business analysis practices, principles, and tools on IT projects.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Ability to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job
- United States Citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).
- Prefer BAI certification and/or SCRUM Certified Product Owner (CPO)
- Ability to work in a matrix environment
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of business process reengineering, business modeling concepts or extensive use of other techniques to support process improvements.
- Must be able to interact tactfully with all levels of management and be able to handle a variety of diversified assignments.
