Overview
The IT Security Analyst is responsible for monitoring and hardening Karna IT systems at the direction of SSO. The IT Security Analyst is a part-time position which will play a pivotal role on Karna's IT Team. This position will help maintain and secure our IT systems ensuring compliance with security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Performs tasks as assigned by SSO or IT PM and focused on security preparedness, monitoring, response, and recovery.
- Primary day-to-day function is monitoring the system.
- Performs hardware monitoring and prepares necessary security patching.
- Identify, investigate, and remediate security issues.
- Reports on any relevant security findings to SSO.
- Supports SCA and SCA remediation reporting.
- Perform log analysis.
- Implements system administration/engineering activities to investigate and re-mediate vulnerabilities in Windows and Linux systems.
- Executes daily monitoring and operation of configuration management, risk management, and other security-critical functions.
Qualifications
- 1 - 3 years’ experience as a system administrator focused on security, including OS and application security configuration, software installation and management in cloud-based environments.
- 3-5 years of IT experience.
- Experience remediating security issues required.
- Comfort with command line and scripting for setting configuration.
- Experience with Windows, Microsoft Azure, and Office 365 suite of tools.
- Experience using SIEM tools to monitor, hunt, and investigate potential security vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with government compliance environments, to include NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171 control sets.
- Experience implementing a zero-trust architecture.
- Hybrid in Atlanta, GA preferred - other locations will be considered
