Kern Regional Center is one of 21 private, non-profit regional centers contracted by the State of California through the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) to coordinate community-based services and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Kern Regional Center services over 10,000 individuals in Kern, Inyo and Mono Counties. Our counties cover approximately 22,000 square miles with a population of over 945,000 people.
Kern regional Center is looking for a dedicated Outreach Specialist looking for their next challenge. This individual will provide direct service to people with developmental disabilities and their families through working directly with clinics, doctors, school districts, and agencies that serve children in our community. The Outreach Specialist will conduct outreach, public awareness, and community relations activities at the center. The specialist will develop and provide workshops to families, clients, and stakeholders.
Requirements
The Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, political science, psychology, sociology, business administration, public administration or related human services field from an accredited school or any combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in report writing or working with community-based organizations or outreach, or any equivalent combination of relevant work and educational experience
- Bilingual language fluency (English/Spanish) required.
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s License and State automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record substantiated by a DMV printout.
- Full use of automobile or ability to provide for independent transportation
- Must be able to drive to various sites as assigned on a daily basis

Hourly pay for this position $24.16-$34.00
Starting hourly pay $24.16-$26.64.
