What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Technician - Child Welfare position at Kids Central?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Data Technician is responsible for the accurate and timely data entry into automated client information systems, reviewing exception lists and other management reports, and initiating processes to correct so that information systems are complete and accurate. Also provides support to the Quality Management Department. Deals with a diverse group of important external clients and internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload, recommends improvements in job function and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Collects and verifies information pertinent to clients served
- Runs daily, weekly and monthly reports in FSFN, Mind Share and My JumpVault
- Reviews exception reports and other data management reports and initiates corrective actions as required
- Produces monthly grant reports for Family Connections Program
- Provides data clinics at CMA’s for FSFN data/exception cleanup
- Maintains contact with field staff to provide technical support and help maintain data integrity
- Works closely with other departments, especially placements and financial staff to ensure that all information relevant to payments and placements is accurate and current
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Experience
High School diploma, or equivalent and one-year data entry experience
Licensure/Certifications
- Ability to successfully clear a Level II Background Screen as required by Florida Statute and DCF.
- Possess a valid Florida driver’s license and be insurable by the agency’s current insurance carrier
- Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Ability to meet Organizational Required Competency standards
- Above average working knowledge or the drive to quickly learn automated systems such as Florida Safe Families Network (FSFN), Excel, Mind Share, My JumpVault, Power Bi Desktop and Service
- Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to analyze exception reports and other data management reports
- Ability to prioritize
- Ability to work well as a team member and independently
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job regularly operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds. Repetitive motion is also required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
