We are actively seeking a skilled Parent Educator to contribute to our team at the Knox County Health Department. Candidate must live in local area; driving daily in and throughout Knox County is a requirement of this position.

Purpose of Job
The purpose of this classification is to provide educational support and counseling activities to families with risk factors enrolled in the evidence-based Parents as Teachers home visitation program. Focus to be on healthy pregnancies, parent-child interaction and development-centered parenting and family well-being. This is a grant-funded position.
Essential Functions
· Provide educational support and counseling activities to parents with fidelity to Parents as Teachers (PAT) evidence-based program model and KCHD guidelines.
· Maintain required caseload of families, conducting personal visits with each enrolled family one to two times per month.
· Develop, prepare, and implement family plans based on the Parents as Teachers program requirements, regularly evaluating family progress and engaging family members to facilitate outcomes.
· Plan, conduct and participate in educational parent group activities and/or targeted community-based events, including some after-hours and/or weekend events.
Minimum Training & Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Studies, Education, Psychology, Social Work, or related field required; Nursing Degree preferred.
· Minimum of three (3) years’ related experience
· Ability to communicate bilingually (English and Spanish) and non-smoking preferred.
· Experience working in the home and familiarity with community services and supports is highly valued.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $50,500.25 per year
