What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Mechanic II position at Koppers Inc.?
Job Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and housekeeping
Install and repair diaphragm, centrifugal, positive displacement, and other types of pumps
Repair and maintain all mechanical systems and troubleshoot mechanical issues as required
Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance shop equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and written instructions as necessary to complete an assigned task
Actively work to reduce identified issues in a team environment
Maintain plant mechanical equipment and systems to ensure efficiency and minimal downtime.
Work in a safe and efficient manner while following all Koppers policies including but not limited to Koppers LOTO and Permit to Work policy
Performs other duties as required
Candidate Qualifications/ Requirements
High school diploma or General Education Degree
Preferred 2 years technical/trade school or specialized in technical skill.
5 years of mechanical experience or a combination of education and experience in the manufacturing industry.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Highly motivated and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Must be willing to work as a member of a team.
Must have reliable transportation
Must maintain a reliable method of contact
Must have a willingness to work varied hours whenever necessary to achieve the desired results, including call-ins, overtime, and on-call.
