(Onsite)Position SummaryThe Staff Accountant / AP Accountant works as part of the finance and accounting team and is primarily responsible for the daily processing of Corporate Accounting related transactions, including Accounts Payable, to the general ledger. The Staff Accountant is a customer service oriented, detailed, self-starter with a good understanding of the basics of accounting. Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform daily bank account and general ledger account reconciliations
- Manage the full cycle accounts payable process for the loan origination entity including : - Working with business leads on new vendor setup- Processing invoices through Workday (approximately 100 invoices per week)- Executing weekly settlement runs- Performing research on payables as requested
- Audit semi-monthly employee expense reimbursement requests for policy compliance
- Maintain various sub-ledgers related to capitalized assets, corporate debt, and operating expense accruals
- Perform budget to actual variance analysis for operating expense accounts
- Coordinate yearly 1099 distribution
- Provide quarterly documentation to audit group and external audit firms to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements and to support audit of external financial statements
- Maintain desk level procedures for processes as necessaryRequired Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance
- 5 years general accounting experience
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Familiarity with Workday (Needed) and Concur (preferred)Compensation depends on experience but is typically 40-60 / hr.
