Staff Accountant

 

 

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity in San Francisco, California. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial records, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulations, and assisting with audits and reconciliations. PLEASE NOTE: All duies for this role are performed at the client’s office in San Francisco. This is NOT a remote opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

• Perform account reconciliations and ensure that all accounts are in balance.

• Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances, and provide insights to senior management.

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner.

• Assist with the preparation of tax filings, including sales tax, income tax, and other required filings.

• Support the annual audit process by preparing documentation and providing requested information to auditors.

• Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

• Assist with internal and external reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 1-3 years of experience in accounting or finance (preferably in a corporate environment).

• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and GAAP.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

• Knowledge of accounting software or ERP systems is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• CPA or working towards CPA designation is a plus.

• Experience in a fast-paced or high-growth industry is preferred.

• Familiarity with tax filings and reporting regulations in California.

Pay Details: $33.00 to $37.00 per hour
