Distribution Logistics Operations Manager

As the Manager for Distribution Operations, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of our warehouse, logistics and driver teams, ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods from production to shipment. This role emphasizes a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and operational excellence. Key duties include managing the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of materials, maintaining accurate records, and resolving any issues related to damaged goods or shipping errors. You will also be responsible for training and developing your team, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

·       Manage and lead the receiving, storing, packing, and shipping of merchandise or materials

·       Responsible for maintaining necessary files, documentation, product verification, packing, unpacking, and loading shipments

·       Ensures employee safety and compliance with all policies including DOT regulations

·       Works with Supply Chain and Customer Service to resolve problems such as damaged goods or shipping errors

·       Selects, trains, and develops team

·       Conducts performance reviews as scheduled, maintains and motivates staff to meet business needs 

·       Addresses DOT requirements and manages daily progress of items in transit and the truck and trailer disposition

·       Contributes to team effort by achieving results that are linked to company goals and objectives.

Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:

·       High school diploma or GED

·       5 years of related DOT experience

·       5 years of logistic experience

·       Must have computer skills to include Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

·       Able to operate powered equipment such as forklift or hydraulic jack lift

·       Valid driver’s license with good driving record may be required

·       Thorough knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures including handling exceptions.

·       Strong verbal communication skills.

·       Effectively motivates and manages a team.

·       DOT Regulations Knowledge.

·       Proven experience of leading a team.

License/Certification
Preferred: Forklift Certification
 

Working Environment & Conditions/Physical Requirements
·       Will be required to sit and stand for extended periods of time. 

·       May have to bend, squat, and stoop. 

·       Will be required to perform extended computer usage. 

·       Will be required to perform duties in a Warehouse setting.

·       Wears all approved Personal Protective Equipment in all areas in which it is required.

·       Able to lift up to 50 pounds
