What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Architect (8-10 years experience) position at KZF Design?
We are looking for a licensed landscape architect to support our site, planning and building design teams.
The Landscape Architect will produce high quality, project-focused design and construction documentation in response to the client’s program.
This role supports KZF’s discipline directors of landscape architecture and planning in providing design and technical services for site design and landscape architecture projects, producing high-quality deliverables, and ensuring adherence to budgets and project standards. The candidate must demonstrate autonomy, professional judgment, and the ability to manage design decisions, documentation, and staff performance effectively while addressing client needs and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
The skill set of the Landscape Designer/Architect include the following:
- Collaborate in a team environment with multiple disciplines (architecture, interior design, mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineering, civil engineering, structural engineering, urban planning and sustainability.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, both internally and externally.
- Ability to produce exceptional deliverables based on client needs and technical solutions.
- Ability to anticipate and prioritize project needs.
- Required proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suite.
- Comfortable working on parallel assignments.
- Proactive and assertive in problem solving.
- Prepare documents conforming to KZF standards and quality control requirements.
- Assist with the preparation of Landscape Architecture design studies, design narratives, calculations, and analysis.
This is a full-time position with an expectation of being in the downtown Cincinnati office multiple days a week, subject to change according to company policy. KZF offers flexibility in setting hours to balance work and personal life.

Do you meet these specifications?
Required
- 8-10 years of experience working as a landscape designer or architect
- Professional registration as a landscape architect
- Strong analytical, planning, graphic, and design skills
- Significant experience in design detailing and construction documentation
- High proficiency in CAD/Revit, 3D modeling and graphic/rendering software tools
Desired
- Ability to lead internal project teams in the assembly of construction documents
- LEED AP or other sustainability credential(s)
