What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist (Level II) position at L&E Tubing?

We are currently looking for a Machinist (Level II) with the following shift open:
* 5/8’s Day Shift (5:30am-2:00pm)
Job Duties:
* Set up and operate 3 and 4 Axis CNC mills.
* Perform the duties of the machinist, kit tools, operate numerical control (NC) machines, band saw.
* Studies blueprints, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
* Deburr and assemble parts / fastening parts with Hi-Lok bolts, screws, rivets, or other fasteners.
* Operate drill presses, Bridgeport mills, riveting machining or presses to assist in assembly operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Must have good mechanical aptitude, high energy, and solid work ethic with excellent time management.
* Knowledge of geometric dimensioning, tolerancing and machining principles.
* Knowledge of CNC tooling such as mill fixture, vacuum, vise jaw and jigs etc.
* Must be familiar with G and M codes.
* Ability to read CMM report.
* Troubleshoots jobs, suggests changes to job procedures or tooling as part of solution to problems.
* Good hand eye coordination, attention to detail.
* Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications.
* Ability to read and understand precautions, safety, blueprints, and other specifications as necessary to perform job function.
* Ability to use precision tools (e.g. caliper) to take accurate measurements.
* Ability to multitask or operates multiple machines simultaneously.
* Ability to take directions and communicate effectively.
* Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and maintain/updates Proshop order status.
* Cross train and assists other departments as required.
* Perform light maintenance of equipment as needed.
* Maintain clean and safe work area.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
Sitting, standing, pushing, pulling, grasping, reaching. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to Shop/Industrial environment. The noise level in the work environment has potential to be 89.4 decibels, which requires OSHA approved ear protection. Frequently used PPE in this position is: Ear protection, gloves, and safety glasses.
Preferred Experience:
* High School Diploma
* Two-years certificate from college or technical school or at least two years related experience
* Aerospace Experience and blueprint reading skills
* Good math skills
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Permanent resident of the United States ( “U.S. person” as defined by ITAR )
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of typing, Windows, Microsoft Office, website navigation, and ERP.
The successful candidate will be required to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment background check.
