As a team member, you are an important partner in our continued success as an industry leader and an ambassador for our company. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Accounting Department. You must be familiar with full-cycle accounting and understand all the processes and documents necessary to produce financial statements for a reporting period. You will be responsible for reconciling bank and credit card statements, tracking fixed assets, doing payroll, and preparing sales tax returns as well as assisting with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable tasks as needed. The Staff Accountant will also monitor and implement internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance.
Requirements
Reconciliation of accounts and preparation of supporting journal entries
Assist with accounts payable and receivable.
Responsible for payroll.
Ensure the accuracy of sales tax filings.
Monitor and maintain internal control for credit card processing.
Collect outstanding receivables and research claims.
Analyze and verify the information by creating spreadsheet reports.
Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining and recording files.
Prepare payments by accruing expenses and assigning account numbers.
Issue and maintain fuel cards for drivers.
Post-receivable payments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with at least 2 years of Accounting or Finance experience
Proficient in QuickBooks
Advanced knowledge of GAAP
Strong problem-solving skills
Strict attention to detail and highly organized
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Self-motivated and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
