Position Summary and Attributes:
LakePoint is seeking individuals who want to play a key role in providing excellent guest experience through our Program and Activities department. We are seeking a team member that is responsible for implementing, teaching, coordinating and carrying out activities through our twice-weekly Home School PE Program.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of activities for Home School PE classes. This would include tasks including but not limited to setup, supervision, and breakdown and develop.
- Organize, lead, and instruct a variety of indoor and outdoor activities for each class.
- Help lead and organize Team parties and sport related birthday parties.
- Resolve problems that may arise in a proactive and professional manner.
- Ensure site cleanliness and organization.
- Communicate with Director and other team members.
- Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the activity and all program areas that are involved.
- Be enthusiastic and positive with guests and team members while maintaining high standards of health and safety for all.
Basic Qualifications and Experiences:
- High School Graduate or GED
- At least one year of higher education preferred.
- Prefer experience working with children, youth camp programs, recreation, or other related fields
- Complete First Aid and CPR certification (provided by LakePoint Sports upon hiring)
- Ability to lead, plan, organize and implement program activities.
- Ability to work with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work as a team member and accomplish tasks together.
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to accept responsibility and exercise judgment.
- Communicate and work with various ages and skill levels and interact with the public in an effective and courteous manner.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to the activity.
Work Environment:
Work areas may be in outdoor or indoor facilities. The weather may affect the surroundings. Work can take place both an indoor and outdoor setting and in a variety of weather conditions while standing, walking, bending, and lifting for long periods of time. Employees may operate a variety of small and medium equipment on a regular basis.
Work Hours:
Regular attendance is a necessary job function required for this position. Scheduled working hours vary depending on the season, program or event. Early mornings and late evenings. Hours per week may vary, most work weeks are less than 30 hours.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, team members are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle and operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
