Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Weekend Supervisor to oversee operations during the weekend shifts. This role is critical in ensuring that our team operates efficiently and effectively while maintaining high standards of operation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a commitment to fostering a positive work environment. Responsible for all facets of operation. This includes, but is not limited to production, personnel, safety, and quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report, monitor & implement key performance measures & take appropriate actions to correct performance gaps.
- Oversee plant personnel and operations to ensure optimum levels of quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and adherence to our safety policies and procedures.
- Schedule personnel to equipment according to their knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Work with quality and participate in lean manufacturing practices/continuous improvement with a focus on driving cost reduction & performance improvement at all levels of the organization.
- Identify and eliminate any training and/or procedural deficiencies with help of internal auditors. Facilitate the additional training of employees as required and assist in disciplinary issues as needed.
- Maintain the plant in order to meet or exceed all OSHA standards and local fire regulations.
- Able to communicate effectively through written and verbal communication.
- Wears approved personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
- Develop and retain high performance employees.
Working Conditions:
Working conditions may consist of loud noise, vibratory tools, repetitive motions, airborne particles such as metal dust and chips and exposure to chemicals, fumes and bright light. Physical requirements include continual standing, walking, lifting, twisting with periodic bending, climbing, stooping, crawling and crouching. The ability to walk, talk, listen and the use of the hands is required of the employee on a daily basis.
Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:
- At least 5 years of prior experience strongly preferred.
- Must have excellent planning skills (long and short term) for labor and equipment capacities.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in safety improvements and well versed in improvement processes.
- Must be a continuous improvement leader who has the ability to engage, energize, and empower others.
- Ability to manage time and resources for the best possible outcome on a daily basis.
- Ability to manage and teach employees.
- Able to decipher blue prints, and use measuring tools and equipment.
- Knowledge of equipment and common manufacturing practices.
- Knowledge of general shop procedures and rules including safety precautions.
- Ability and willingness to cooperate with co-workers and work as part of a production team.
- Basic software knowledge/skills to include Microsoft Excel/Outlook/Powerpoint.
- Ability to lead/facilitate small group meetings and discussions.
JSA (Job Safety Analysis) Office:
For office personnel, their job will be in an inside environment with some noise. They will need to be able to grasp, reach and twist while sitting on a regular basis.
Some of the risk factors for their job will include repetitive motions, static postures, and reaching above the shoulder.
Their main hazard but not limited to will be their back and hands, after that some other hazards will include eye, foot, body, fall and noise hazards when going out on the shop floor. Along with the body hazards, some hazards that come from the job will be: improper bending/twisting, tripping over the product/material when on the shop floor, and staring at a computer screen for too long.
Some preventive measures will be having the proper PPE (safety glasses, shoes, hearing protection, etc.) on when necessary while making sure they are using the right posture technique when at their desk. They should also be aware of anti-fatigue methods since they will be prone to static postures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
