Job Responsibilities:
- Assist Millwrights and Crew Members: Support machinery installation, maintenance, and repair in industrial settings like factories and construction sites.
- Equipment Setup: Help assemble, install, and align machinery according to blueprints and technical specifications.
- Material Handling: Move and transport heavy machinery using hand tools, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment.
- Cleaning and Maintenance: Keep work areas clean and assist with routine machinery maintenance.
- Troubleshooting: Aid in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and procedures for a secure working environment.
- Learning Opportunities: Learn from experienced millwrights to build skills in machinery installation, repair, and maintenance.
Job Requirements:
- Experience:
- 2 years of industrial construction experience.
- 1 year of welding, fabrication, or rigging experience.
- Skills: Proficiency with hand tools, mechanical aptitude, and physical stamina.
- Compliance: Pass a pre-employment drug screen and meet State of Iowa and Federal hiring requirements.
- Physical Demands: Climb, stand, bend, squat, kneel, walk, and lift/move 50-75 pounds.
- Work Environment:
- Work primarily outdoors.
- Frequent travel and comfort with heights are required.
- Exposure to varying temperatures, fumes, or airborne particles; PPE will be provided.
Compensation & Benefits while on the road:
- Per Diem: $55/day for food and beverages.
