What are the responsibilities and job description for the Charge Nurse Operating Room position at Layton Surgery Center?
JOB TITLE: ASC Charge Nurse
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
- Ensuring staff adheres to workplace protocols and procedures
- Assisting nurses in their charge with patient-related questions
- Overseeing the smooth transition from operation to another
- Acting as a liaison between nurses and doctors
- Creating and evaluating staffing plans and schedules
- Checking the availability of patient supplies and medications
- Handling their own patient assignments, if applicable (varies by facility)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Current state RN license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification preferred or basic EKG or Arrhythmia identification certification.
