Credit Underwriting – Internship Program:
10 Week Program
At Legence Bank, we integrate academic learning with practical application in preparation for your career. The design of our internship program is for an individual who wants to gain hands-on experience and relatable skills along with helping achieve their professional goals.
The Credit Underwriting Internship will be an opportunity to gain knowledge and hands-on experience with Commercial and Agricultural Lending. This track allows the individual to learn what it takes to assess and approve a loan, while also making strategic and responsible fiscal decisions.
- Week 1 – Company Overview – Learn the Brand, Vision and Strategy
- Week 2 – Loan Policy Review
- Week 3 – Basic Underwriting: Narratives, Loan Submission Reviews, Credit Memos
- Week 4 – Overview of the Completed Loan File
- Week 5 – Tax Returns and Financial Statements
- Week 6 – Underwriting in Action
- Week 7 – Program Utilization
- Week 8 – Loan Programs: FSA, SBA and Farmer Mac
- Week 9 – Loan Presentation
- Week 10 – Learning Review
Eligibility:
- Pursuant of a degree relevant to Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Authorized to work within the United States
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week
