We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Accounting Office Assistant to join our team at Legion Industrial Equipment. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in an accounts payable function and will assist in managing various accounting tasks, particularly focusing on the full accounts payable cycle. This role requires someone with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Cycle: Participate in the full accounts payable process, including receiving, processing, and paying vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Three-Way Match: Perform a three-way match between purchase orders, goods received, and vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Invoice Entry: Code and enter supplier invoices into the ERP system in accordance with company procedures.
- Vendor Account Management: Assist in the initial set-up and maintenance of vendor accounts, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Reconcile Vendor Statements: Review and reconcile vendor statements, ensuring discrepancies are identified and followed up with the appropriate vendor in a timely manner.
- Credit Card Reconciliation: Reconcile and record monthly credit card statements, ensuring all charges are properly documented and accounted for.
- Month-End Assistance: Contribute to the month-end closing process, including preparing and reviewing accounts payable reports.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience in an accounts payable or similar accounting function.
- Proficient in using accounting software/ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
Additional Information:
- Part-time position, approximately 15-28 hours per week.
