What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Analyst position at Libbey?
The Accounting Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recording of transactions, account analyses and reconciliations within GAAP guidelines. The position will have a role in the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation of journal entries in support of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings
Perform monthly account analysis and reconciliation
Prepare and distribute monthly and/or quarterly reports
Prepare various schedules for external auditors on an annual basis
Perform forecast, budget & prior year variance analyses on monthly balance sheets, income statements, and changes in financial position
Perform and monitor testing as part of the Company’s SOX compliance and Internal Audit programs
Assist in preparing company’s retirement plans, statutory and annual financial statements
Ad hoc analysis and special projects
Collaborate with international regions

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
0-3 years of accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong foundation with Microsoft Office products (primarily Excel), and the use of information systems
Ability to learn/operate technology systems quickly
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritize accordingly
Commitment to strict deadlines and ability to perform well under pressure
