Responsibilities
- Unload shipments from delivery trucks using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and clamp trucks.
- Sort and organize materials for easy access and efficient storage within the warehouse.
- Operate heavy equipment including cherry pickers and forklifts as needed for order picking and inventory management.
- Perform regular inspections of unloading equipment to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
- Collaborate with team members to build pallets and prepare orders for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency in the warehouse.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures while handling materials and operating equipment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cherry pickers, and other heavy machinery is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues as they arise.
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage inventory effectively.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment while adhering to safety standards.
- A positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively with team members are essential for success in this role.
