Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with intellectual disabilities in their daily activities, promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life. Your work will take place in various settings, including group homes and community environments, where you will assist clients in achieving their personal goals through tailored care plans.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Implement and follow individualized care plans to meet the specific needs of each client.
- Provide support in home community care settings, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote socialization and community involvement.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while providing patient care.
- Provide first aid as required and ensure the safety of all clients during activities.
Experience
- Previous experience in direct support or home care is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with care plans and group home environments is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
