House Supervisor

Job Title: House Supervisor (RN) – Night Shift

Location: Petoskey, MI

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (with possible extension)

Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM | 36 Hours/Week

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with unit leaders to manage shift staffing and resource allocation.
• Coordinate patient placement from the Emergency Department, procedure units, and referring facilities in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
• Act as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, providing guidance on policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Support nursing units by assisting with patient assignments, transportation, and other nursing duties as needed.
• Facilitate patient transfers in and out of McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.
• Identify and address patient care delivery issues, work processes, and equipment needs in collaboration with department leadership.
• Apply adult learning principles in staff education and development.

SWAT Nurse Duties:

• Serve as a hospital-wide SWAT Nurse, responding to urgent and emergency patient care needs.
• Provide emergency response for Code Blue, Rapid Response, STEMI, Trauma, Stroke, Code Grey, MTP, etc.
• Quickly assess patients experiencing changes in status and provide necessary interventions.
• Accompany and monitor critical care patients during in-hospital transport (MRI, diagnostic tests, IR, ED to ICU/CVU).
• Assist floor staff with IV placements, ultrasound-guided IV starts, and peritoneal dialysis as needed.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with hospital regulations.

Requirements:

• Active RN License in Michigan.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a Critical Care and/or Emergency Department setting.
• Certifications Required:
• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC
• Ability to work every other weekend.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $2,614.56 - $3,559.40 per week

Schedule:

• 12 hour shift
• Night shift
• Rotating weekends
• Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
