Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices, and performing various accounting tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the department. This position requires a strong understanding of basic accounting principles and excellent communication skills.
- Process and verify incoming invoices and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Record financial transactions in accounting software and maintain accurate general ledger entries.
- Reconcile accounts payable and other balance sheet accounts on a regular basis.
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Support the preparation of tax filings and audits.
- Prepare and maintain accounting records, spreadsheets, and reports for management review.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and monitor company cash flow.
- Handle routine inquiries from vendors, customers, and other departments regarding billing and payments.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management related to accounting functions.
- Assist the accounting team with other tasks and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in accounting preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk, Accounts Payable Clerk, or similar role.
- Candidate must be Bilingual
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Hyphen, Brix, Sage, or similar platforms).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with general ledger accounting and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment.
- Standard office hours 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
