Description
The Speech Language Coordinator provides supervision and consultation to the Speech Language Pathology staff. Responsibilities include coordinating the delivery of Speech-Language services to students, consult with Associate Directors of Student Services and Educational Services, attend coordinator meetings and carry a modified student caseload. Also will assess communication needs of students, develop and implement appropriate intervention plans and ensure therapeutic services required by IEPs are provided. Additional responsibilities include coordinating consultations, provide in-service training to other staff, maintain inventory of all test, equipment and materials used by the team. Meet with classroom and related service staff as needed, attend intake and IEP meetings and attend conferences to update knowledge in the area of communication and determine professional development for the SLP staff. Position follows an academic calendar with a 5 week ESY program. Benefits eligible.
Requirements
Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology, PEL, Illinois licensure with certification to supervise speech language pathology assistants. Certificate of Clinical Competence, minimum 3 years experience preferred, experience with Autism, Emotional Disabilities and working with children preferred. Must have knowledge of Boardmaker and visual systems. Experience with programming of Augmentative Communication devices required. Must have excellent oral and written skill and supervisory experience.
