Daycare Assistant Teacher Infants

We are seeking a caring and dedicated Daycare Assistant to join our team in providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children. As a Daycare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our students and ensure their overall well-being.

Job Description:

Little Sprouts Daycare is committed to providing quality education and care for children newborn through preschool. We strive to meet the needs of each child and family individually through a holistic approach, encouraging development intellectually, physically, and emotionally.

An infant room teacher works to create a calm and interactive environment for each child. Their primary goal is to help each infant reach milestones as expected and to monitor for any signs of developmental abnormalities. This room can be a very busy and stressful to provide care in. The ability to multitask and the willingness to ask for help when needed are essential skills. This position also involves significant amounts of bending, lifting, standing, walking, and requires the ability to get down to floor level. Expectations of an infant room teacher include, but are not limited to the following:

Be able to remain calm and patient with the infants despite possible continued crying.
Provide age appropriate discipline that aligns with the center discipline policy.
Adjust care provided to meet individual needs of each infant.
Infants should be provided with needs such as naps, food, diaper changes on demand.
Ensure infants are provided a safe sleep environment as determined by state regulations.
Ensure bottles are given with in recommended time frames after being prepped and/or drank from and supervision is provided while drinking them.
Ensure supervision is provided while eating any solid or pureed foods.
Ensure diaper changes are completed per recommended best practice procedures.
Provide meaningful engagement activities and play for each child.
Complete daily curriculum goals such as encouraging fine and gross motor development.
Encourage age appropriate development such as assisted sitting, standing, walking.
Encourage age appropriate development both physically and mentally.
Monitor for delays in age appropriate growth and development.
Communicate with parents regarding concerns and needs.
Document daily in the Brightwheel app all required areas of documentation.
Maintain up to date records regarding each infant and family preferences.
Maintain a clean environment within the classroom and daycare as a whole.
Complete tasks as assigned by the Center Director or House Staff.
Abide by state licensing standards and center policies for all cares provided.

All Little Sprouts teachers are part of a greater team outside of the main classrooms they care for children in. Each teacher is expected to be able to fill in at times for at least one other classroom and assist with house needs as indicated. Additionally, state and center required trainings are to be completed within the established training policy guidelines. A team mentality is essential to success within our center. Professional oral and written communication is expected when talking with peers, supervisors, children, and parents.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: Up to $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 42 per week
