Position Title: Administrative Assistant, Adult Ministry and Membership Support
Position Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Responsible to: Pastor, Teaching and Ministry Development
Position Summary: This position provides administrative support for the Adult Discipleship Ministries and Membership.
Spiritual Qualifications:
- Able to clearly articulate faith in Jesus Christ; exhibits traits of a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ; and is consistently maturing in his/her Christian faith.
- In agreement with Living Water’s purpose, statement of faith, and governing documents.
- Must be or become a member of Living Water and regularly attend weekend worship services.
General Qualifications:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated competency in successfully completing projects on time and within budget.
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and other related software.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, and a commitment to excellence.
- Ability to plan, organize, and multitask in a deadline-intensive environment.
- Command of the English language, proper style, usage and punctuation, and ability to type 30 wpm.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with a wide variety of cultures.
Adult Discipleship Team Support
- Provides all aspects of administrative support (including but not limited to class/teacher scheduling, scheduling meetings, ordering/maintaining of resources, printing and binding of materials, maintaining and coordinating publicity efforts, communications, class rosters, attendance, etc.) for all Adult Discipleship Ministries’ activities (e.g. Membership classes, Small Groups, Men’s and Women’s Ministries, Young Adult Ministries, Singles’ Ministry, etc.) and events (Get Connected, Marriage Night, etc.).
- Coordinates paid childcare workers for group meetings, church events, and helps with training to stay in compliance with state regulations.
- Assists with volunteer recruitment.
Membership Support
- Administers all aspects of the process of moving individuals from first-time attendees to covenant members, including scheduling/promotion of Discover/Explore classes, registering of participants, printing of materials, organization of classes, coordination of Elders, and planning of new members’ recognition, etc.
- Administers membership covenant renewals, ensures members receive annual covenant renewal forms in a timely basis, and proactively communicates with members who have not renewed covenants.
- Provides administrative support for baptisms and baptism classes.
Other Administrative Responsibilities
- Processing weekly Communication Cards (attendance, action items, and prayer requests).
- Oversee prayer requests volunteers.
- Obtains contact information for guests, updates church database with the appropriate information, and processes guest communications.
- Ensure that TouchPoint Status is up to date for church family.
- Manages the church’s Zoom licenses.
- Assist in the scheduling of food bank appointments.
- Assist in answering telephones and provide coverage for front office window as needed.
- Provide administrative support for weekend worship services as scheduled and coordinate schedule for all weekend admins.
- All other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule (Typical):
- Monday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Tuesday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Wednesday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Thursday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Friday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
- One Sunday/month 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (Monday off)
- Two (2) Weekends per year where there are five (5) weekends in the month.
