The Opportunity
Lonestar Forklift is looking for a Service Dispatcher to join our team in Houston, Texas. As a Service Dispatcher, you will be responsible for overseeing Service jobs from start to finish, including scheduling and directing the work of assigned Service Technicians.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Service Dispatcher for Lonestar, your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing, coordinating, and scheduling all Service jobs required by our customers, including overseeing incoming requests and ongoing Service jobs
- Scheduling Technicians according to the provisions of the applicable Collective Agreement, utilizing the service scheduler to book appointments
- Managing incoming leads using established departmental procedures, and prioritizing incoming Service requests
- Communicating with Service and Parts team members to ensure that workloads are maximized, and customer needs are managed proactively
- Partnering with the Service Manager, including providing input regarding the performance of Service Technicians
- Maintaining contact with customers and managing payments, ensuring customer satisfaction
- Ensuring that all corporate safety initiatives and programs are followed in the field
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
- Post-secondary education in Sales, Business, or a related discipline
- Previous experience in a comparable role strongly preferred, including proven ability to schedule appointments and manage conflicting priorities
- Previous experience in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
- Superior organization skills, time management skills, and prioritization skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Confident self-starter and team player
- Excellent/high-speed typing skills
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy machinery equipment is an asset, but not required
