Elementary Teacher

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher to join our small team of professionals. We are a new school with small classroom sizes, offering easy morning hours within a caring and supportive environment. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing quality education and care to our students. This position requires strong leadership skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to create a positive and nurturing learning environment. You also need to know how to extend and remediate lessons for students, as it is a mixed-age classroom. This position is part-time. Our students learn Chinese and math in the afternoons with a new team of teachers.

Responsibilities:
Develop and implement age-appropriate and engaging lesson plans and curriculum in Reading, Writing, Social Studies, and Science for a mixed age classroom, grades 2/3.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, where students treat each other in a kind and considerate way
Assess and monitor the progress of each child, both formally and informally

Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive educational program
Create meaningful relationships with parents and caregivers regarding their student's development and progress
Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and other relevant information

Have the ability to remediate and extend lessons for multiple groups of learners in a mixed-age classroom

Attend monthly staff meetings, write bi-weekly newsletters, hold conferences and write report cards twice during the academic year
Stay updated on current trends and best practices in early childhood education

Experience:
- Previous experience working with elementary aged children in grades 2/3

- Experience creating unique and engaging curriculum
- Strong understanding of elementary teaching principles
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively educate, engage, and inspire young learners
