Senior Accountant

Louisiana Scrap Metal is the premiere metal recycling company in Louisiana. We have locations in Port Allen, Lafayette, Lake Charles and Gibson, with more to come in the future. Job will be based out of our Port Allen or Lafayette facility., whichever is most convenient for the candidate. Candidate will work directly with Controller and accounting staff to achieve accounting objectives. The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, account reconciliations, and journal entries. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset. 

Responsibilities

• Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
• Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close
• Reconcile key balance sheet and expense line items
• Assist with financial statement preparation and analysis
• Engage in analysis of key business functions and operational KPIs
• Expand and grow reporting function for middle to upper management

Qualifications

• 3 years' of professional accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products - emphasis on Excel
• Tableau experience a Plus
• Cost Accounting/Cost Tracking a Plus
