Position Summary: The Senior Accountant will hold a key position within our accounting department, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor. This role will support the day-to-day activities of the department and collaborate closely with various teams to ensure accurate capture of accounting information. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to provide strategic insights to drive financial excellence.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist with cash management by monitoring bank balances, cash requirements, and resource planning.
- Prepare and review weekly payment listings, ensuring accuracy and timely release of approved wires and electronic payments.
- Perform comprehensive month-end duties, including posting intercompany allocations, completing complex account reconciliations, and posting accounting entries for international entities.
- Take ownership of payroll entries, ensuring accurate posting to the general ledger, and performing related payroll reconciliations.
- Contribute valuable financial information to strategic plans and reviews, proactively resolving problems, and identifying process improvements as applicable.
- Meet accounting financial standards by supplying annual budget information, meticulously monitoring expenditures, identifying variances, and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
- Uphold financial security by strictly adhering to internal controls and recommending enhancements when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of progressive accounting experience, demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to handle complex financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and the presentation of financial insights to stakeholders.
- Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial processes.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience working with SAP or other ERP systems, showcasing a deep understanding of its functionalities and capabilities.
- Previous experience in the manufacturing sector, familiarizing you with industry-specific accounting practices and regulations.
- CPA designation or progress towards obtaining it, reflecting a commitment to professional growth and expertise.
