- Job Title: Library Student Assistant
- Supervisor: Public Services Librarian
- Hours: Up to 10 hours per week
- Location: E. M. White Library
- Work Schedule: May include evenings (after 5 p.m.) and weekends
Assist with library circulation, customer service, and basic research support to ensure smooth daily operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Check out and check in library materials
- Re-shelve books and maintain shelf order
- Process new books for circulation
- Provide basic library research assistance (catalog and database searches)
- Handle interlibrary loan requests
- Offer friendly and professional customer service to library users
- Occasionally assist in supervising interns
Minimum Requirements:
- Some prior work experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Friendly and professional customer service skills
- Ability to lift and carry books
- Ability to reach books on low and high shelves
- Ability to read small print
