As a Patient Access Specialist, you will be responsible for managing patient information, coordinating appointments.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients upon arrival and assist them with the check-in process.
- Review and verify patient documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Schedule appointments efficiently while considering patient needs and availability.
- Maintain organized records of patient interactions and ensure data is accurately entered into electronic health record systems.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care requirements.
- Assist in coding procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Address patient inquiries regarding services, insurance, and billing processes.
- Support office management tasks to enhance operational efficiency within the department.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Proficient in documentation review and understanding of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth or Epic is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
