Nursing Home Administrator Job Description
Overview
As a not-for-profit entity, oranized within a Christian environment, the Nursing Home Director is to be a person of high moral character; neven been convicted of a felony; display sound Christian values; devoted to the caring of the elderly; conduct themselves in a manner which reflects the principles and goals of Luther Manor Retirement and Nursing Center.
Duties
-Manage the day-to-day operations of the facility and keep the organization on track for its long term goals and mission.
-Coordinate and provide leadership to each clinical, managerial, and custodial team, and ensure they work together effectively.
-Coordinate hiring, training, supervising and discharging of staff and employees at every level with Human Resources.
-Ensure the facility operates in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
-Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure residents' individual care plans are being followed.
-Provide regular safety and compliance training.
-Make recommendations to and update procedural and policy manuals.
-Create and maintain a budget.
-Oversee billing and set fees.
-Be fiscally responsible for the financial integrity of operating income & expenses.
-Preserve Investment Portfolios for future long term capital projects, facilities expansion, etc.
-Provide appropriate monthly financial reports and make business recommendations to the Board of Directors to keep them informed and up-to-date in the best interests of the life of the residents and working conditions of the employees.
-Act as the 'face' of the organization to the governing board, the public, and residents' families; and as a liason between staff, residents and families.
Requirements
-Hold a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration or related field, prefer Master's of Health Administration (MHA) or Master's of Business Administration (MBA) in Healthcare Management.
-Have specialized training in the areas of health and gerontology.
-Possess a current Missouri Nursing Home Administrator License or be licensed in another state and obtain Missouri Licensure by reciprocity.
-Have a minimum of three years' experience as a Nursing Home Administrator or Assistant Administrator.
-Accrue the continuing education (CE) clock hours required to maintain an active Nursing Home Administrator license.
