Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Education - Associate Degree or equivalent combination of education and work related training
- Experience - Five (5) years appropriate office experience, preferably three (3) of which are related to activities involved with human resources
- Skills - Ability to develop appropriate office procedures and perform duties with minimum supervision using a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and outside agencies; proficiency in typing or using a keyboard; demonstrated proficiency in using a desktop computer, specifically in the areas of HRIS, word processing, spreadsheets and database; skill in interpersonal relationships
Responsible for assisting the Human Resources Office in carrying out the various HR programs and procedures for the College; Assist in the absence of Employee Compensation and Benefits Technician with time and attendance and overtime processing; Assist HR with on-boarding of staff and maintain compliance of necessary staff credentials and documentation; prepares internal and external position announcements; assists in the employment recruiting process; updates and tracks the computerized filing system for all incoming applications, resumes, and letters of recommendations for potential candidates and prepares appropriate responses; prepares employment contracts and payroll authorizations for new employees and status changes; process all new employee required documents; greets visitors, ascertains nature of business and provides direction; prepares all information concerning union collective bargaining agreements including negotiation proposals; prepares all memos, letters and correspondence for the Human Resources Office; responsible for updating the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and database; prepares all correspondence and materials for the Board of Trustees; prepares mass mailings that originate from the Human Resources Office; assists benefits administration by preparing applications, change cards, claim forms, submittal of deduction forms to payroll and employee assistance in resolution of problems; maintains accurate files and documentation for all governmental agencies and compiles and types educational and statistical reports; sorts and distributes mail to human resources staff.
