What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager position at Lynxspring, Inc.?

The Business Development Manager is tasked with growing the enterprise account market, retaining current customers, and nurturing these key relationships over time. The right candidate will work well under pressure, think outside the box, easily initiate relaxed (but informative) two-way conversations, and be highly self-motivated. The right candidate will also understand how to assess a company’s needs and tailor the outreach program to each key account.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Work together with the Sr. Sales Executive to grow existing specified accounts.
  • Identify key players, research and obtain business requirements, and present solutions to decision-makers at prospective enterprise accounts. 
  • Become a strategic partner and advisor to existing and new clients, discovering new opportunities.
  • Partner with an internal cross-functional team to understand customer goals and ensure that those goals are met.
  • Develop trust relationships with key accounts to ensure they do not turn to competition. 
  • Develop account intelligence, relationship maps, and use case opportunities through direct account engagement and insight tools.
  • Maintain accurate activity information in the CRM to manage all customer activity to maximum efficiency and ensure successful follow-through of the sales cycle.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing team members on strategic account initiatives. 
  • Function as the subject matter expert on BAS offerings.
  • Some travel will be required. 
  • This position will report to Lynxspring’s HQ in Lee’s Summit, MO, when not traveling.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • HVAC Controls experience and expertise.
  • Proven successful use of core sales tools such as Zoho, LinkedIn, Google Apps, and Microsoft Office.
  • Dynamic personality to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences.
  • A focus on relationships, building trust, and setting expectations.
  • Extremely self-motivated with a diligent work ethic.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a distributed sales team.
  • The capability of understanding customer pain points and correlating potential business to value that Lynxspring’s Products and Solutions can provide.
  • Solid and professional communication skills -- written, verbal, and presentation, both internally and externally.
  • Aptitude to manage numerous requests and time demands concurrently while achieving execution goals.
  • Promotes a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables. Acts without being told what to do and brings new ideas to the accounts.
  • Ability to work independently, while being part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Drive, Grit, Team Oriented: a strong desire to succeed. 

 

Education and Experience:

 

  • 5 years of successful experience in sales with demonstrated success in prospecting technical products and solutions.
  • BA/BS degree or relevant experience.

 

Preferred Competencies:

 

  • Demonstrated success in prospecting and closing sales of technical products and solutions to End Users. 
  • Large account management experience.
  • Niagara experience is a plus.
