Position: Grant Writer
Reports to: Executive Director
Hours/week: Up to 30 hours per week (flexible schedule)
Salary: $25 to $30 per hour (non-exempt)
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree, 5 years proven track record in writing winning local, state, and federal grant proposals, and 2 years of related grants management experience.
· Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, with a strong attention to detail.
· Ability to conduct thorough research to identify funding opportunities and understand grant-making organizations’ priorities.
· Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, including donors, foundation representatives, and colleagues.
· Capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining quality and consistency.
· Skill in customizing proposals and applications to align with the funder's requirements and priorities.
· Experience in developing budgets that align with grant proposals and the funding organization's requirements.
· Ability to work collaboratively with other team members (e.g., program managers, financial officers) to gather necessary information for proposals.
· Ability to adapt to changes in priorities or requirements from funding organizations.
· Basic skills in MS Office Products (i.e., Word, Excel, Access & Outlook)
· State Driver’s License and Auto insurance required
Responsibilities:
· Identify and research potential funding sources, including foundations, government agencies, and corporations, that align with the organization’s mission and programs.
· Develop clear, compelling, and well-structured grant proposals, ensuring all components (e.g., narrative, budget, attachments) meet the funder’s guidelines.
· Keep track of submission deadlines and coordinate the timely preparation of proposals to meet all deadlines.
· Work closely with program managers and financial officers to gather necessary data and ensure alignment of proposal content, budgets, and program objectives.
· Write and submit regular reports to funders detailing the progress, outcomes, and financial status of funded projects.
· Ensure all grant proposals comply with funders' guidelines and organizational policies, including legal and regulatory requirements.
· Track and maintain a comprehensive database of all submitted, pending, and awarded grants, including relevant deadlines and progress reports.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential funders, acting as a liaison between the organization and grant-making entities.
· Regularly assess the organization's funding needs, collaborating with leadership to determine priority areas for grant support.
· Stay up to date with trends in grant writing, nonprofit funding, and the broader philanthropic landscape.
· Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop strategies for donor engagement, including writing fundraising appeals, campaigns, and donor reports.
· Help maintain positive relationships with individual donors by providing them with regular updates on funded projects and ensure donor expectations are met.
· Research and identify additional fundraising opportunities beyond grants, including events, corporate sponsorships, and individual contributions.
· Support in organizing and coordinating fundraising events, providing necessary materials, proposals, and content to engage potential donors and sponsors.
Agency Expectations:
· Follow the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) Code of Ethics with regard to professional boundaries, client confidentiality and other professional ethics
· Participate in all individual and group supervision, team meetings and ongoing training
· Exhibit consistent attendance, punctuality, and responsible use of personal time with consideration of client/program/agency needs
· Educate and market program to staff and general public
· Attend all meetings as required by funders or agency
· Participate in professional and educational opportunities
· Ensure program services are culturally competent

· Perform other related duties as required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
