We are looking for a Senior Analyst, Manager Research to join our Investment Management Team.   The position will be responsible for research of mutual fund/ETF managers for inclusion in the Mariner approved list and model portfolios.

Responsibilities

Research and Platform Maintenance

  • Perform sourcing, researching, monitoring, and making recommendations on investment strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of the overall Investment Management Group function, improving methods and tools utilized.
  • Provide reports from Bloomberg, eVestment, Morningstar, Zephyr, FIRM and other analytical tools.
  • Develop and generate monthly/quarterly reporting packages as required.
  • Communicate with investment managers to evaluate investment philosophy, process, personnel and performance.
  • Extract and interpret both quantitative and qualitative data to help drive decision making.
  • Create and maintain detailed due diligence reports and document ongoing monitoring of investment managers.
  • Use Zephyr, Morningstar Direct, and other analysis tools to assist in investment strategy due diligence.
  • Ad hoc tasks, special projects and other duties as required.

Communication

  • Participate in creation of agenda and preparation of materials for investment committee meetings.
  • Develop and present research findings to our investment committee, advisors and others as needed.
  • Serve as in-house expert on mutual funds/ETFs/MWA models, supporting advisor inquiries as needed.
  • Attend and present at some client investment reviews as needed.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in business-related field required
  • Progress toward or completion of the CFA preferred
  • Progress toward or completion of MBA and/or other relevant professional qualifications a plus
  • Investment or retirement plan-related experience in a professional office environment a plus

Skills and Knowledge

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to multi-task, manage workload, and complete projects on time
