Senior Director of Purchasing

We’re seeking a Senior Director of Purchasing to join our team and play a key role in driving operational efficiency and achieving organizational goals. About The Role

Reporting directly to the President, the Senior Director of Purchasing is responsible for developing and implementing strategic purchasing initiatives, managing vendor relationships, overseeing inventory and pricing operations, and leading a high-performing team. Success in this role requires a blend of strategic vision, operational expertise, and strong leadership skills to align purchasing and supply chain functions with organizational goals.

Purchasing & Pricing Operations

• Develop purchasing strategies to optimize costs, quality, and efficiency.
• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships, negotiate costs, and monitor supplier performance.
• Lead the pricing team in creating competitive strategies informed by market analysis and sales feedback.
• Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for savings and process improvements.
  
  

Inventory Management

• Oversee inventory processes to ensure optimal stock levels and operational efficiency.
• Standardize procedures across locations to improve accuracy and meet organizational demands.
  
  

Strategic Leadership & Team Management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing with company goals.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing purchasing team.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and provide guidance and feedback to team members.
  
  

Process Improvement

• Implement data-driven solutions to enhance purchasing workflows and reduce lead times.
• Serve as a member of the company’s Continuous Improvement Committee (Lean methodology experience preferred).
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or related field (required).
• Master’s degree or certifications like CSCP or CPSM (preferred).
• 8 years in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain roles, with at least 3 years in leadership.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strategic thinker with hands-on operational expertise.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (experience with Eclipse preferred) and advanced Excel.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Results-oriented mindset with a track record of driving efficiency and profitability.
