What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Maintenance Manager position at Materion?
The Maintenance Manager will provide direction in daily activities to support all equipment and assets within the facility ensuring optimal equipment availability for operation. This will include the development of strategic maintenance plans, mentoring employees in reliability best practices, setting KPIs, and elevation of continuous improvement investments to ensure proper equipment operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Leadership: Lead and develop maintenance personnel by maintaining a competent and trained work force, supplementing skills with appropriate training programs, to ensure that resources are readily available as business needs change.
- Equipment Availability: Ensure equipment is proactively maintained to allow for optimal operation ensuring maximum product throughput without sacrificing equipment life, safety, or functionality.
- Maintenance Excellence: Champion change for maintenance by developing, planning, and executing strategic maintenance plans and preventative maintenance programs that align with corporate reliability strategy to move up the maintenance maturity curve.
- Safety: Employee and environmental safety is the highest priority. The Maintenance Manager will lead and participate on safety teams, observe workers safety habits, investigate near misses, incidents, and accidents.
Qualifications
Education
- BS in Engineering Discipline (Mechanical/Electrical/Maintenance preferred) and 2 Years supervisory experience OR
- Associates Degree with appropriate maintenance supervisory experience exceeding 5 years OR
- Significant demonstrated maintenance supervisory experience exceeding 5 years with prior supervisory experience gained through increasingly responsible positions in maintaining manufacturing operations
Experience
- Minimum two-years’ experience in leading maintenance teams and skilled labor trades
- Must have proven mechanical/electrical experience (two plus years)
