Requirements
- Ability to design tooling and fixtures to facilitate manufacturing processes, improve manufacturing efficiency and/or reduce overall cost
- Ability to lead/manage projects of various size and scale the current document process while also identifying improvements to processes, procedures, equipment, and implementing innovation through automation
- Develop and analyze production plans using manufacturers drawings, specification to ensure compliance to customer requirements, government regulations and supplier requirements
- Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality control
- Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making
- Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage with all levels of the organization, from the leadership team to the shop floor
- Ability to take direction from several sources, prioritize accordingly and work under tight deadlines
- Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner; follow all Safety Guidelines
- Committing to Lifelong Learning by completing all assigned learning and seeking opportunities to improve self
- Other duties as assigned
- A high school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience deploying Lean in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years of overall experience within Operations, Continuous Improvement, and/or Supply Chain roles
- Experience working in Automotive, Aerospace or heavy equipment industry preferred
- Experience working in a ASW D14.1 welding environment preferred Ability to identify, evaluate and develop solutions to complex problems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff
- Thorough understanding of quality control, safety, transportation, and reliability standards and methodologies
- Demonstrated knowledge of CI tools i.e. Visual Management, Standard Work, Kaizen, Kanban, SIOP, Daily Management, 5S, Visual Management, 3P, VSM, TPM, etc.
- Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.)
- Experience in a complex and/or engineered-to-order manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience leading improvement initiatives with an emphasis on problem-solving
- Knowledge of configuration management and the creation/maintenance of BoM’s
- Ability to read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings and models along with technical specifications
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and engage with all levels of the organization, from the leadership team to the shop floor
- Ability to take direction from several sources, prioritize accordingly and work under tight deadlines
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screen and E-verify
