What are the responsibilities and job description for the YMCA Martial Arts Instructor - Tuesdays 5pm-6pm - free membership position at McGaw YMCA?
McGaw YMCA is looking for an instructor for our growing youth recreational martial arts and/or karate program. We are looking for individuals who are energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated to work with young children ages 3-13.
Note: This position serves on Tuesdays from 5pm-6pm with the possibility of extending to 7pm. The preferred candidate will have experience supporting martial arts programming for ages 3-6, but instructors with older youth backgrounds are encouraged to apply, too.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Lead Instructor in planning and implementing a lesson plan that meets the needs of the students and the teacher
- Create a fun and safe learning environment for all students
- Provide guidance and feedback to students while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom consistent with McGaw YMCA policies and procedures
- Participate in class supervision as needed by the Lead Instructor
Skills:
- 3 years of martial arts experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with children
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking skills
- Energetic and energetic
- Excellent physical strength and stamina
