Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities
Including but are not limited to:
- Teach trombone, euphonium, and tuba lessons in accordance with the learning objectives and Concourse syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students
- Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments
- Provide feedback and evaluate students’ performance throughout the learning process which could involve being available for student conferences either before or after class, and by College email if necessary
- Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records, and required course related data
- Use educational technology (i.e. course management platform such as Canvas)
- Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results
- Maintain currency in professional field
- Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence
- Course specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices: Master's degree in music.
- Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred.
- Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
