JOB SUMMARY

The Vehicles Manager is responsible for the strategic oversight, management, and optimization of McKenney's fleet of 700 vehicles, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role involves directly managing Fleet Coordinators and providing guidance to eleven department-specific fleet managers, supporting them in maintaining operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety across the fleet. This role requires a high level of autonomy in fleet management, decision-making, and strategic planning. Additional duties include implementing technology changes and process improvements to support company growth.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Fleet Oversight & Optimization

· Directly oversee all aspects of fleet management for 700 vehicles, including acquisition, maintenance, insurance, registration, and disposal.

· Implement cost-effective strategies for fuel management, vehicle replacement cycles, and repair processes, focusing on minimizing downtime and maximizing lifecycle value.

· Ensure fleet compliance with state, federal, and industry regulations, as well as internal safety and operational standards.

Process Improvement & Innovation

· Identify, analyze, and lead the implementation of process improvements within fleet operations, aiming to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and minimize downtime.

· Standardize best practices across departments to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency in vehicle management processes.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor fleet performance, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.

Leadership & Team Management

· Supervise, coach, and evaluate the performance of two Fleet Coordinators, fostering professional growth and accountability.

· Act as the central advisor for 11 department fleet managers split between McKenney’s Atlanta and Charlotte offices providing best practices, guidance on policy adherence, and solutions for fleet-related challenges.

· Coordinate communication among departments to standardize vehicle management procedures and promote cross-departmental alignment.

Strategic Planning & Reporting

· Develop, analyze, and present fleet-related metrics and reports to upper management, highlighting key areas for improvement and tracking progress on cost-saving initiatives.

· Collaborate with the Finance and Operations teams to develop and manage the fleet budget, ensuring alignment with company goals and available resources.

· Lead the implementation and improvement of fleet management technology or software, leveraging data to enhance efficiency and decision-making.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, logistics, or a related field.

· 3 years of experience in management or operational leadership experience, with a proven track record in implementing process improvements and autonomous decision-making.

· Demonstrated expertise in technology and data analytics.

· Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills with experience in leading cross-functional initiatives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Knowledge of state and federal fleet compliance and safety regulations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND CHARACTERISTICS

· Computer skills, including PC experience in Windows environments with a working knowledge of spreadsheets, e-mail, and web-based applications

· Innovative, solutions-oriented mindset for continuous improvement

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills

· Positions within this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT

· Work is performed in an office environment with frequent exposure to outside elements

· Work can be exposed to the outside elements

· Required to lift up to 50 lbs

· This position requires working from McKenney’s campus in Atlanta and quarterly travel to our Charlotte office.
