Yard Associate

Job Summary: The Yard Associate is responsible for loading and unloading materials and products, rotate stock material, picking orders as needed and loading outgoing trucks with finished goods and products. The Yard Associate moves material and work-in-process between operations and also assists with inventories.

Pay for this Role: $20.00 per hour - $34.00 per hour depending on experience. 

• Unload inbound trucks.
• Unload lumber backhauls from contracted delivery services.
• Put tags on all units of lumber and use the barcode software to receive/put away lumber.
• Assist in unloading of rail cars. • Load building packages as required.
• Stock received lumber in the correct locations. • Restock miscellaneous material at all plants as needed.
• Preform daily inspections of equipment and report any issues.
• Preform housekeeping as needed.
• Fill in as needed in other positions in the yard department.
• Other duties, as assigned. 

• Lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 75 pounds or more frequently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in a production-oriented environment, prefer fabrication, inventory management or warehouse experience.
• Ability to operate yard equipment required, loader and forklift experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service attitude and skills.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office and use of bar-coding systems.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• HS Diploma or GED with some college coursework preferred, two or four-year degree preferred.
